Position Overview

To contribute to the development, implementation, monitoring and review of the business strategy, working with the retail partners and the Ralph Lauren sales team to maximize the retail net profit by driving sales and customer experience; working in partnership with the retail partners to build motivated and high performing teams through the effective leadership and development of skills and product knowledge.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Developing retail performance

  • Translates the strategic goals into retail operational plans to achieve the required targeted growth in sales and profit; identifies and optimizes promotional opportunities ensuring these are co-ordinated with wider Mind promotions and campaigns
  • Proactively manages and reviews the performance and progress of retail stores and their regions, reviewing objectives and targets.
  • Developing incentive programs to drive sales performance in line with the corporate
  • Spends time in shops with retail shop teams and customers to understand and identify business critical issues in order to ensure the alignment of tactics and strategies; maintains the corporate identity of Ralph Lauren in all shops and related initiatives


Retail Operations

  • Control of the implementation of retail operations policies and procedures of partner retail stores; to ensure clear communication and expectation from Ralph Lauren and our retail partners
  • Develop and implement operational best practices across partner retail stores  as well as implement and maintain the Operations Manual
  • Customer service relationship management and follow up on returns and customer complaints   
  • Working with creative services RL NY  and customer services Europe on all uniform programs
  • Plan in advance all required needs for setting up the operations of new partner  stores in Emerging Markets, following the guidelines from GVA office and the partner on the matter
  • Support partners with effective solutions aiming to overcome identified issues
  • Make sure that all existing and upcoming partner stores are operated according to Ralph Lauren standards

Learning and Development

  • Developing and evolving retail specific learning programs to support the development of the partner retail business in partnership with the L&D department
  • Driving KPI performance; working with Regional Training Manager to develop individual training plans for the team to drive sales performance  
  • Set the standard for the Ralph Lauren  induction program, to ensure all new and existing  store employees have the same level of knowledge globally
  • Coordinating seasonal training seminars for all brands, venues, logistics, transport accommodation as required to achieve efficient training attendance and delivery
  • Developing category specific training programs to improve product knowledge and drive sales
  •  Responsible for managing and presenting  quarterly/annual budgets for maintenance, retail operations and L&D
  • Partner with Marketing to ensure timely delivery of training for events and promotions


Store Maintenance  

  • Working in partnership with Project Development  to oversee all new openings and refurbishments from planning to execution
  • Setting expectations for general store maintenance management, budgeting, and scheduling
  • Work with Partner and Supplier to maintain all POS
  •    Working with the visual merchandising team to ensure the general store maintenance is recorded and updated
  • Attend Market Visits to assess situation of POS/Best Practices
  • Ariba management of PO, payments and follow up with Finance


Project Management

  • Partner with internal RL Departments (Sales, Merchandising, etc.) to support them on initial discussions for new projects and renovations
  • Support PM team from back-office perspective (submit the minutes of the calls, maintain the share-folder organization)
  • Facilitate the new openings process via efficient communication with the partners
  • Define and track measures of success on opening performance, based on business results & partners’ feedback
  • Participate in preparing the executive presentation upon store opening

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

  • At least 2 years experience in retail environment
  • Fluent in English (native a plus)
  • Open-minded & proactive Team player, with a strong sense of initiative
  • Able to work under pressure and to prioritize workloads to meet strict deadlines
  • “Hands on” attitude & ability to multi-task
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (diplomacy & cross-cultural communication)
  • Willingness to learn and to share knowledge

  • Degree in business, management or a fashion
  • Background in business administration or finance a plus
  • Additional foreign languages a plus (Russian, Arabic, French)
