Candidate profile
For this prestigious project we are looking for a passionate Director of Sales to become a part of the pre-opening team and the Commercial department. The position will be crucial to the hotel’s success. The Director of Sales will be reporting directly to the Commercial Director. The starting date will be June 2020 with the office in Frogner, Oslo.

This inspiring position demands a person with international sales experience within the hotel industry. We are looking for a candidate with strong communication skills that can build both industry relationships and provide excellent brand representation.

Responsibilities
As Director of Sales you will be responsible for making strategic sales plans in order to attract the right clientele to the hotel. Our main target market will be international with a strong focus on the US and UK. Therefore having a high proficiency in professional business English is crucial. Understanding all principals of international sales is a minimum requirement for this role.

The position
At Sommerro, meeting and events will take a crucial role. Therefore a main key performance indicator for this sales role would be the M&E revenue. The candidate must have a strong understanding and knowledge on how to sell M&E. Also with an extended network of clients and relations both international and domestic. It will be a very hands role; acquiring new business, relations and continuously focusing on increasing the pipeline of active sales using hot and cold leads. This role does not include any HR responsibilities, leaving the successful candidate to solely focus on the art of sales. Flexible working hours is to be expected as there are customer events, familiarisation trips and frequent travel abroad to our core markets. Overseas travel to the US and UK will occur several times during the year. Therefore being able to manage and prioritize your working hours is crucial to this position. We see it important to understand the strategic core concept of attracting MICE sales to our market as this will be an important segment for the hotel.

We are looking for someone that can show a stellar track record of past achievements within this area of sales.
