The role

The Italian Chef is responsible for the preparation (pasta fresca) and service of hot and cold dishes in the Castello Restaurant, collaborating the team-members and for carrying out ordering and stock.

Required Experience & Qualifications:


  • Professional qualification from an accredited culinary school
  • Min. 5 years of experience in a related restaurant
  • Adaptability to operating standards and efficiency
  • Excellent and thorough knowledge primarily of the Italian cuisine, Mediterranean cuisine and also of international cuisine
  • Creative, innovative, and with a genuine passion for the culinary arts
  • Thorough working knowledge of pasta fresca, hot and cold food preparation
  • Read and employ math skills for following recipes, and work towards minimizing food wastage
  • Visually inspect, select and use only the fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, fish, fowl and other food products of the highest standard in the preparation of all menu items
  • Hands-on approach, flexible, with a positive attitude
  • Cost aware and with excellent numerical skills
  • Good knowledge of English language, second language will be considered as an advantage
